The Thing That Bores Me

I have to admit, it takes a lot to bore me. My hobbies consist of “boring” activities such as sewing, painting, writing, playing with my cats, and photography. I also enjoy cleaning and organizing and the occasional roller blading when I feel like not being able to walk the next day.

But I think the thing that bores me is people that aren’t content or always looking for stimulation. It’s almost as if there’s no depth to someone that can’t be happy with who they are or are always looking for the next thing to get into. Kind of like they don’t even know who they are.

I get it. There are introverts and extroverts. I’m definitely NOT the latter. But here, I guess I decided to focus on something a little deeper than that. I’ve known a lot of extroverts that feel empty and alone when they aren’t with other people or consistently doing an activity. When they give their brain a chance to rest, they think and they don’t like it. One of my college friends once told me he can’t listen to rock music because it’s too deep and makes him think. But thinking isn’t a bad thing! People with depth isn’t a bad thing. But people that refuse to expand bore me.

It takes a different kind of person to be alone and enjoy it. Personally, I can paint canvases with my children while listening to metal-core music all day. That’s kind of the dream.
