What Strategies Do I use to Maintain My Health and Well-Being?

I love this question. I’ll try to keep my answer short and sweet.

One of the main things I’ve started doing is not putting anything onto my body that I wouldn’t put into my body. Your organs digest everything that soaks into your skin. Different chemicals and the amount all take different times to metabolize. This can put a strain on your organs. So, I’ve stopped using commercial shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, makeup and perfume. I use baking soda, apple cider vinegar, castile soap, and essential oils to fragrance my concoctions.

I’m also starting to do the same with what I put into my body. I try to eat mostly baked chicken, rice, and vegetables for lunch and dinner. This can be cooked several different ways. For snacks, I stick to fresh fruits and vegetables. I still throw in cookies and chips. You have to start slow when it comes to these things. Sudden or drastic changes to diet won’t last. When I want something crunchy, I chow down on cucumbers or banana pepper. Once you start eating this way, you will start craving the foods your body needs. It can take a few weeks to reset this, but as long as you stick to eating real food, that’s what your body will want. It will make processed food taste like processed food and you’ll start to prefer the real stuff.

The last thing I want to add is to not care about the opinions of others that don’t matter. I feel like I’m as close as I can get to a non-conformist. I’ve never felt like I belong in what society has become. I don’t care about trends, social media presence, or working myself to death. It’s pretty freeing. I don’t fix my hair or makeup. I feel like a lot of people do it for other people because that’s how they were raised. They feel like they have to be presentable by taming their curls or straightening their hair. But why? It’s because society has told you that crazy curls are a turn-off so you have to straighten them. Or straight hair has no body so you put curls in it? Now, isn’t that a little contradicting? There’s nothing wrong with natural. I’ve let friends and family know that I’ve started this chemical free/unprocessed food thing. A few have made me feel a little crazy about it but I don’t care. I want to be and feel healthier. You have to stop living your life for other people to accept you for how you talk or how you look. That isn’t reality.

  1. Strategies which I follow to maintain my good health is I try to simplify things as much as possible because complexing simple things itself leads to stress which directly affects different body parts and an individuals well being. You don’t need to do tough things but only simple things for a long period of time without breaking the link . I wake up at 4:45am in morning and then I start my healthy morning practice from 5:00 am sharp which includes running ,exercise, basic streching and some breathing yoga which nearly last for 20 minutes then I listen to podcast which inspires me throughout the day and alternatively I read books on self improvement nearly 6-7 pages daily and last 20 minutes I developed a recent habit of practising gratitude although I started with journaling but could not do it regularly so I switched to gratitude habit which made me more positive and helped me focusing on what I can do with what I have in present rather than complaining about what misfortunes I have in my life . Slowly this habit of gratitude allowed me to bring solutions of problems which I once found difficult to solve in all areas of my life and it automatically reduces my stress which directly lead to my good health this exercise too lasts for 20 minutes. After finishing this I mention all the stuff that I need to do today with deadline which reduces chaos in my life and made more stress free .You can modify these according to what suits you better .
